Who processes your data

The controller is me, Jakub Kubík, a private individual based in Brno, Czech Republic. Questions and requests about your data go to jakupkubik@gmail.com.

When you email me

I process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message, including anything you choose to write in it.

The purpose is to reply and, where relevant, to agree on working together (a job offer, a website). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, otherwise my legitimate interest in answering your message (Art. 6(1)(f)).

My mailbox is a Gmail account. Messages are stored on Google’s servers, and Google Ireland Limited processes them as the mailbox provider under its own privacy policy, possibly also in the USA (Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework). I do not share your messages with anyone else or use them for marketing.

I keep messages for as long as the conversation lasts. If it does not lead to working together, I delete them at the latest two years after the last message. If it leads to a contract, I keep them while the contract runs and for as long as accounting and tax law requires.

Visiting the website and hosting

The website is static: no log-in, no forms, no visitor database. It is served by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). With every request Cloudflare receives what every browser sends: your IP address, the requested address, the time, your browser type and the page you came from.

Cloudflare processes this data as my processor, to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks, under its Data Processing Addendum and the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f)). Transfers to the USA are covered by Cloudflare’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and by standard contractual clauses.

How long Cloudflare keeps these logs is set by its own policy. I do not store them in my account (log storage is switched off) and I do not use them to track or profile visitors.

Cookies and browser storage

This website sets no cookies. Fonts, images and scripts all come from this domain, so browsing it does not connect you to any other service. LinkedIn, GitHub, DOI and arXiv open only when you follow a link; their own rules apply there.

The website writes at most two values to your browser’s storage (localStorage), and only when you choose a setting:

• tema – the value light, if you switched to light mode (dark is the default);
• pohyb – the value stoj, if you paused the animations.

They stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere. You remove them by switching back (dark mode, animations on) or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. They need no consent because they only provide a feature you asked for (Section 89(3) of Czech Act No. 127/2005 Coll., Section 109(8) of Slovak Act No. 452/2021 Coll.).

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Just write to jakupkubik@gmail.com; I will reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest.

If you think I handle your data wrongly, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Mine is the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7. You can also complain to the authority in the EU country where you live or work.

I make no automated decisions and do no profiling.

The fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1: Archivo, Signal Mono.

Screenshots of client websites show sites run by their owners; the texts and photos on them belong to those owners.

Changes

If the processing changes (for example, if visitor statistics are added), I will update this page and its date.
